On behalf of the APAGBI, we are delighted to invite you to join us at our Annual Scientific Meeting in Plymouth in 2026. It has been almost 15 years since we last held our meeting in the South West, and much longer since we visited the port city of Plymouth with its maritime heritage, historic Barbican district and iconic Mayflower Steps. The organising team, based at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, have brought together an exciting programme of expert speakers to share their knowledge and experience. The meeting will take place at the Crowne Plaza which overlooks Plymouth Hoe's greenery and the coastline. The venue is the perfect setting to host parallel sessions, workshops, breakfast sessions and industry product demonstrations.

Away from the main scientific meeting, the organising team have organised a drinks reception and dinner to highlight the best of Plymouth, and I expect some dancing will be included. This is always an invaluable time to catch up with colleagues and build new relationships. Personally, I am very much looking forward to the 2026 ASM. I was unable to attend the meeting in Torquay in 2011 but heard many good things. I have high expectations for another fantastic event in the SW and hope that you take the opportunity to support this meeting and share in what will be a truly enjoyable experience.

Dr Karen Bartholomew, APAGBI President
