The Preoperative Association is delighted to announce the first ever dedicated course for Preoperative Assessment Pharmacists. This course consists of 2 days of face-to-face small group teaching.

 

The training will cover the core skills required for effective medicines management and optimisation in the preoperative assessment clinic.

 

This course is suitable for band 7 or 8a pharmacists working in the field of preoperative assessment, independent or NHS sectors. 

 

Venue: Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, Sir Herbet Seddon Teaching Centre, Brockley Hill, Stanmore, HA7 4LP

Date: 15th & 16th January 2026

Principles and goals of preoperative assessment

Role of pharmacists in preoperative assessment

Anaesthetic considerations

Risk assessment in preoperative assessment

Principles of medicines management in the peri-operative period

Role of the pharmacy workforce in prehabilitation and medicines optimisation in long-term health conditions

Shared decision making with patients on discontinuing medications before surgery

 Scenario-based interactive sessions

INVOICE REQUESTED

Please note if you have requested an invoice you will need to complete an invoice request form which will be attached to your confirmation email.  If you would like us to provide an invoice to your place of work this must be done in writing well in advance of the conference dates. The Pre-op Association will not accept any invoice requests within a month of the course date as this would not allow enough time to process payments. This will need to be returned to accounts@eventmanagementdirect.co.uk before your booking can be confirmed.

Please use your surname as a booking reference so we can match the payment to your registration.  Can we also ask that you email Lauren at accounts@eventmanagementdirect.co.uk with notification of payment.

Delegates will not be guaranteed a place at the conference until payment has been received in full.
